Holiday Art Party with Nicole Bruckman!

Happy December! With the holidays just around the corner, we want to give you more time to check everyone off your gift list, and we also want to get in the holiday spirit with you! This Thursday, December 7th, is West Third Street’s annual holiday event: all the stores along the street will be staying open until 8 pm, and many of them will be having special events.

We ourselves are so excited to be hosting the amazingly talented artist Nicole Bruckman, who will be selling original paintings and fine art prints of her work! Many longtime customers might remember Nicole from when she used to work at New Stone Age.

Nicole’s stunning acrylic paintings transport the viewer into a magical realm populated by adorable animals – a world where crocodiles take flight with balloons in their mouths, polar bears sing to small children, and llamas dress up like David Bowie. Nicole has a particular soft spot for pitbulls, both as models for her paintings and in real life. She is a dog parent to two of them, and she spends the time that she isn’t painting volunteering with great dog rescue organizations that focus on saving this much maligned and misunderstood breed. We are proud to be donating 20% of the proceeds from the sale of Nicole’s artwork and prints to the wonderful local shelter A Purposeful Rescue, which saves dogs from high-kill shelters in the LA area and does outreach work with the public, educating people on the importance of spaying and neutering.

We invite you to come and see Nicole’s beautiful work in person, and to meet the talented artist. A Nicole Bruckman original or print is the perfect gift for the animal lover in your life, and you’ll be helping to save the lives of local pups with your purchase! While you’re here, you can get a head start on your holiday shopping and decorating before all the amazing treasures we have this year fly out the door. We’ll have snacks and drinks to keep your energy up while you shop. See you soon!
